A recent BzzKit from BzzAgent I received included Kashi Hummus Crisps (Sea Salt & Olive Oil flavor) and was I ever pleasantly surprised. I don’t mind hummus, but I wasn’t really sure how I’d like it in chip form. Turns out, it’s delicious. I love the depth of the taste – it’s not overpowering, but it’s definitely present. Seriously, I felt like the taste was pleasantly melting into my taste buds and making them happy. They are also delightfully crispy.

I opened a bag and left it out on my desk one afternoon at work and encouraged people to try them. I got very mixed results. Quite a few people had no interest at all in trying a hummus chip. A few, who are normally inclined to like healthier snacks, were not fans. And, oddly enough, those of us who looooooove the unhealthier side of life really seemed to go for these chips.
I would love to buy more and look forward to using my coupons (I hoarded a few – sorry BzzAgent – but I totally gave them away to anyone that wanted one after the desk taste test challenge); however, I’ve been having a really difficult time finding them. I started looking for them while I was in California, but that search has now branched out to include Harmon’s in Salt Lake City and Safeway in Denver and they don’t seem to be anywhere. I’m a little heartbroken.
Assuming these start showing up on the shelves in stores I frequent, I’m pretty sure I’ll be a regular purchaser, but I don’t see myself going out of the way to a specialty store to pick them up.
